Welcome in our French National Road 7 Museum

Calèche sur la Nationale 7 à Piolenc, Vaucluse

Thierry Dubois takes us from Paris to Menton , and   describes roads' evolution over time.

Throughout the tour, you will enjoy our collection of enamelled plates, advertising panels and other significant objects related to the N7, you will also understand the evolution of tires and radiators over time.

We also have one of the first electric car and a very nice collection of the famous french "Solex" motorcycle.

La voiture éléectrique en 1942

Let's not forget the trucks traveling on the N7... Who does not know the red and blue sign on white background showing a roadhouse ?... Did you know that its origin is the title of a magazine?

You will get a glimpse of economic activity around the N7... through shops that was bording our route from 1950 to 1970...

Épicerie sur le bord de la Nationale 7

The vehicles on display will bring back to your memories...  the first "summer holiday in Provence" through the famous  "traffics jaim" !

Finally, in front of a  Thierry Dubois' monumental drawing, our temporary exhibition area allows us to present a specific topic as well as a film directed by the Association "Memory of National 7" (English subtitled).

Some background

Our museum has been created in 1990, by few friends, having passion for history of main road crossing our village: The French mythic "Route Nationale 7", well-known in the sixties to be the "holyday way"!

The scenography, display and commentaries are from Thierry Dubois, the artist being himself an expert of our preferred road. Museum is fully managed by volunteers of our association.

90% of our collections have local or regional sponsors as source.
